New changes to Primary Elections: You will have to be registered a Republican to vote a Republican Ballot in the Primary.
The 2026 Primary Election is just around the corner, and there’s an important change you need to know about! In previous years, No Party Affiliation (NPA) voters could choose between Non-Partisan, Republican, Democratic, or Mountain party ballots in the primary. However, last summer, the Republican State Committee voted to CLOSE the Republican primary ballot.
What does this mean for you? If you’re registered as an NPA voter, you will no longer be able to vote the Republican ballot in the primary. Instead, you can choose from Non-Partisan, Democratic, or Mountain (if available) ballots.
Note: This change does not affect the General Election, where everyone votes the same ballot.
*** This decision was made by the Republican State Executive Committee**
